How does the online server interact with my computer?

Gameshow Pro is an application that resides on the host’s computer. Participants interact live during a game using their own devices. This is achieved through our server which:

- Creates a secure location for Gameshow Pro and user device log in.

- Facilitates two-way communication between the program and the attendee devices.

The data that is sent between the two consists of:

- Registration of the user’s name and/or email address

- Opening and Closing the polling state in the game

- Results sent from the attendees’ devices (i.e. polling results)

Online Server Security Info

The web application uses enterprise level security and SSL encryption provided by Heroku, our database provider. Heroku stores all customer data in separate access-controlled databases per application. No data is shared with outside parties.

Gameshow Pro is authored in Unity for Macintosh and Windows. It is certified by both Apple and Microsoft.

What if I forget my password?

If you lose or forget your password you simply have to click on the “Register” button, then “I already have an account”, and then “Reset Password”. Then all you do is input your email and follow the directions in your email. It will take you to a webpage where you can input a new password.

What does the blue LearningWare icon do?

When you open Gameshow Pro, you will see a blue LearningWare icon on every screen. When you click on these icons, they open a video tutorial for the screen you are currently on. How-to videos can also be found on this website, under the Learn tab!

How to set up an external monitor

Playing any game in Gameshow Pro requires two-screens—one to control the game “behind the scenes” and one to display the game.  Typically, your control screen will be on a laptop and the display screen will be on an external monitor. You would use this configuration in-person or online. Practically every virtual meeting platform gives you a choice of which screen to share—and you’d choose to share your “external screen” or “Screen 2” for your virtual audience.

You will need to make sure your external display is NOT duplicating/mirroring what is on your laptop screen.

On a Mac - Go to System Preferences: Displays and make sure “Mirror Displays” is not selected.

On a PC - Go to Display Settings: Use the drop down menu to select "Extend these displays".
